UMM, well this morning I started car up, no worries, reverse out of driveway, put in Drive, and....nothing!!! Revved it twice it didn't move, then when I put foot on brake, it went into gear and kept going!!!

When I returned home, there was a distinct burning oil smell, so I check transmission dipstick like described in manual, and fluid is at right spot, but really stinks, and is brown.

If I have tranny serviced, would they change ALL of the fluid or just whats in sump?

Also, about two years ago, the car was shifting badly when hot so had it serviced, put two Davies Craig coolers in front of radiator, and NEVER had problem again.

TIME FOR SERVICE???

Or something worse?

Sounds like she shagged! A service may save it but yeah it sounds like time to replace!

trans should really be serviced every 60,000k's, first sign of stuffed fluid is the colour,It will go from a nice pink and sweet smelling to brown/black and very bitter smelling...
