Hi ive just recently bought a 1988 xf ghia ute for my first car and the only thing that i didn’t like about it was that it had a bench seat.

what i was wondering is how hard would it be to take the bench seat out and install 2 bucket seats and a center console? i would also like to change the column shift to a t bar in the center console. i have the 2 bucket seats and only need to buy the center console. any help would be awsome.

you will need the little brackets which the console screws to. also, find and xd and pinch it's box which mounted the floor shifter. ( xd's are screwed on, and xf's are spot welded.) not sure about the later stuff, but i know xd's had a line marked in the body where to cut the hole.

While we're on the subject: I'd like a centre console for my XC, while retaining the bench front seat/column shift.

Can anyone recommend a good transplant from another model, or a good candidate for modification?
