A mate got slotted ones on his VR. Personally not a fan, they got real hot and induced fade.
Also, the centre hub rusts, and looks crap, it's not painted like DBA ones. Sure you could paint it, but the product should be ready to use. Stick with DBA, RDA are usually cheaper, but they're not the same product. That's my closest experience. Just wait till SuperCheap has a sale, they're $100 - $117. |

I have RDA non slotted rotors and if these examples are typical of RDA then I would not recommend them at all.
Problems I have had with them are the tolerance on the machining is out on one, the inner seal is loose and needed bending out of shape so it was retained but now it leaks grease. I went through 2 sets of bearings before I discovered casting sand on one of the rotors was causing the failure of its bearings, the rotors were washed prior to the initial install. Last one is what appears to be out of balance rotors where the rotors neeed to be up too tight in my opinion before the steering stops shaking at 100k's.

i agree rda rotors are crap!
i got a set and the old std rotors were better.. i replaced mine because my original ones were badly worn and grooved. i thought ok these are new rotors they should be better than whats on there.. firstly the grease seal didnt fit it was loose and i had an issue with the grease cap because my ea still had the genuine rotors. series 1 ea's had smaller outer hub and the greas caps dont fit and these rotors dont come with grease caps.. after the new pads bed in i took it for a good run and after 2 to 3 times breaking firmly the rotors warp from the heat and the steering shakes vioiently. i took them to my mates work shop and he machined them but as soon as they get hot they warp again i still have them on there now but every time the brakes heat up the steering shakes.. unless you are going to drive like a old lady i dont recomend them. go the dba they might cost a bit more but they better than those rda rubbish.. |
