Either your idle speed is too low or your mixtures are lean. Dunno how to adjust the factory fitted system, so I would try adjusting the idle speed by 1/8th of a turn at a time. Screw it in clockwise 1/8th of a turn before you start it in the morning and give it a go. It should not affect the idle speed as your ISC will compensate. If it doesn't fix it after 1 full turn, then I would try something else (get the mixtures set, but make sure the mechanic does the idle mixtures cold, so let them have it over night).
You could also have a vacuum leak. So check that as well. Spray some WD40 or the like around all the vacuum lines, intake, etc. If you get a drop or rise in idle speed you have found the leak. cheers Scott

My dedicated gas el did the same thing when it was running turned out to be faulty dizzy cap. Its still not starting because the faulty dizzy cap/TFI appears to have killed 2 coils so far. I should of taken cap of and inspected but it was hard to get at compared to my older fords lol.
New dizzy cap/TFI, leads, battery (killed after second tow wich was at night) and 3 coils. Coils my bad but. Ill let u know if the new ignition system fixes the starting cold problem. My EL won't start With a weak yellow spark I wish I could get it out of park My patience is wearing thin If it doesn't start soon Its going in the bin |

Nup! Appears inlet manifold vacuum related, hoses leaking when hot, (could be map sensor) in my case as well as faulty/ old overheated and stressed ignition system was not helping at all.
They should call this World Of Fordcraft. Good luck! |
