As far as I know the tickford 6 in the ED XR6 is just a standard engine with a few tweaks. Will sticking duel fuel on cause any problems, will there be a noticable loss of power?

No it will not stuff your engine!
You're pocket will have more money in it and you will think to yourself, "Why the Fck did I wait so long to do this?" If you keep it tuned you will even be just a little kinder to the environment. The only loss will be some boot space and tiny performance loss which you will get over very quickly.

Excellent, it wasn't such an issue but now i'm probably going to be driving to newcastle everyday of the week and the petrol costs really add up.
What do you mean by depending on budget I may loose or gain power toddy? |

mate, the clean part is definite. I have had LPG on my ef gli for 10 years, and its cleaner then most falcons with less mileage on them.. I mean I took the sump off and there was NIL varnish at all.
no gunk in the tappet cover area either! so its done 350,000km, and its rattly but MEH. nah your engine should be right. as long as the gas is tuned right like everyone else said. lean is where it will F**k the engine (dry dry and HOT) Its heaps cheaper and you arent gonna miss out on a hell of a lot of performance. your wallet will be fatter too

Key thing with dual fuel installs is to run your petrol system frequently to run injectors, pump, etc.
For example, run petrol for around 15-20 kms for every tankful of LPG. Petrol also needs to used occasionally as it will go stale when left for long periods without use.

yep too right. otherwise your fuel pump will die, and the injectors will end up carboning over lol.

My xr6 is on gas n going ok, still in the process of tuning though. on the dyno there was 10hp of difference.
My system is programmable and at the moment is starting on petrol then changes to gas automatically

Your bottom end will last longer because petrol is a very dirty fuel and leaves abrasive deposits when burnt that make their way to botom end.
After 5000-10000 kms on staight gas your oil should still look like honey. |

Yes, I noticed this after each oil change, the oil still looks good. The engines internals still look new and there are no sludge deposits in there.
I have stopped using gas for the last 20,000km and the oil looks all carboned up and pooh, the engine has a few more rattles too, so rebuild time and back on gas FTW.
