I have to tow a 2200kg boat 250km's behind my EL 6cyl auto. It has the 2300kg tow pack with the trans cooler, seems a huge weight for a Falcon to pull.

Yeh my brother towed home a EA falcon on a trailer in his EB 6cyl and it went ok. He only drove about 60kms though.

the secret is keep the trans cool.
dads AU and now BF utes mannaged the tandam trailer, the BF as it comes because it has a big front mounte cooler for the trans factory fitted.
the AU did it with the biggest trans cooler we could get

is it a wagon or sedan if its a sedan go to pedders and get a set of lpg springs as they are stronger then the heavy duty we put a set in a old guys ef mont as he tows a 2500t caravan if ya want a little stiffer put heavy duty shocks as well for the spring probally set ya back between $150-$200 and they are piss easy to fit

Use third gear max! reduces the trans heat.

It says this in the manual that it's a good idea also.

true ^

i have trailered a few cars with my car (when it was auto) and it did it fine.

but i was pulling a trailer with a mates EF auto a few weeks ago and the trans over heated, had burnt oil in it.
made it 30k to a servo and changed the oil in the trans was good as new after that. moto of story make sure it has good oil in it.
