factory cars wouldn't run enough boost to do that type of damage. it would need to be running some serious boost to do that to a comp wheel.

And 15psi isn't serious enough. You'd have to be pushing well over 30+psi before that happens to a compressor wheel with no BOV. Chances are at those levels you'd bend your throttle butterfly back before your compressor wheel blades.

i saw an XR6 turbo with an EF K&N Filter in it (left a gap)
sucked a stone in the intake, did that to the turbo and bent all the valves |

If it was ONLY from reversion [No BOV] the outside blades would be damaged ..
Looks like some debre has gone through there...

Did one just like it the other day by the time it was rebuilt with a new core the owner could have gotten a brand new turbo with the larger flapper and the better comp cover for only a couple of hundred more.

Apparently she runs a s**t load of boost, dont know how much, and a K&N, so it was probably a contributing factor. I work at a ford dealer and have seen it before, accept the comp wheel dropped down and smashed against the housing, ford denied the warranty on it. Apparently the 'p' plater couldnt afford to get the thing serviced, (hadnt had an oil change in 45,000km) so ford put it down to oil degredation that shagged the bearings and caused the turbo to fail. He comes in with a xr6t ute with no turbo, around 8k to fix ford thinks....not hard to change oil really. Every 7,500 for me, regardless, if it saves me 8k ill be happy
