You might want to check your vacuum hoses. pop the bonnet and check if the vacuum hose that runs into the cabin is put in correctly and that its not loose. if not you might want to pull off the glove compartment and see if you need to replug in the hoses from there...only thing i can think of that controls the vents.....thats assuming you have CC....and I think it goes the same for non CC.

I hope it's not the blend door, a b**ch to change.
I'm just going from memory here, but that's a very common problem. |

I'm just going from memory here, but that's a very common problem. Nah, that's for how and cold anyway isn't it? If it hasn't got Automatic Climate Control then the blend door is operated by the temperature knob as well. This sounds more like there is a vacuum cut-off valve that has failed, so whenever there is vacuum the vents close, and whne the vacuum drops off (after killing the engine) the vent swings back open like a toilet door. Don't quote me, I have no experience and I am guessing. |

Looks like it's an EL police ECU - going off http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30186 (if it's accurate).
Should still be able to be put into diag mode as per all the others (correct me if I'm wrong).

ive found that if i clear the fault codes then the vents wil work ,as soon as u turn car off and turn ignition again then vents close again, this is the same with both EL computers..but again not with the EB computer..
