found some excellent second hand lpg systems at the local wreckers, getting the conversion done this friday.
now that I will be running on gas is there anything I could do to make my engine better suited to it? |

I have done maybe 300,000klm on gas... only main issues have been leads/plugs to suit lpg
Keep that head cool!!!!! If you don't have one I recommend fitting a coolant level switch. If you get air in the head you can cook it... crack head/ blown gaskets. 18 months ago I had leaky surge tank...cracked and let it go too long till I cracked the head. |

well just letting you know I got the lpg system fitted today, first class job goes like a dream. what kind of spark plugs would I be looking for? what does a coolant level switch do? |

Coolant level switch is to warn you your low on engine coolant. High series fords have the sensor mounted in the side of the radiator fill/overflow bottle. Low series have this spot plugged.
There is some NGK spark plugs my lpg place has advised me to run, and my engine does run smoother on them than any other plugs i've tried thus far. Ask your lpg place the question regarding spark plugs & see what they say. Any of you guys wanna comment on what the s/h conversion cost to acquire & have fit? I've got an ED falcon i'm putting back together after taking the manual outta it, and it's a good car overall, only 115k kms on it! Trying to talk my g/f into taking it off me cheap, fit up a s/h lpg system & drive it instead of buying a small 4cyl on petrol, as she is planning to do. The falcon on lpg is way cheaper than a 4cyl on petrol. I know, i have my EB on lpg & my mighty boy 3cyl on petrol. Cheers ToranaGuy
