has anyone actually had good experiences with the mix-type systems, specifically with ba's?

reading through the forums i see some people have had problems with these systems, im only keeping the car for about 2 more years so dont really want to shell out an extra 1800 for direct injection.. and there is a place in perth that offers the mix type for $2,900

asked the guy at the shop and he said aslong as its serviced well, and the car is run on petrol for a short period weekly it should run perfectly..

anyone had good experiences with these?
