Ok i kno this is probably very silly but, how the hell do i change my spark plug leads over!!!!! i changed the 6th cylinder one and it took me nearly half a fkn hour and about a litre of blood........ I took the air intake off and still can only get like 3 fingers to the dizzy and could not even think about loosening the retaining nut off so i can reset the timing.....

Ideas ppl??? Or am i just uncoordinated???

i do mine from underneath the car. I access them from the back of the motor. Its a bastard of a job. I also taped the new lead to the old and pulled them through. It also helps if you get a little brother with small hands to help you.

It's damn near impossible to do it from the top. I just put my car up on ramps and changed them one by one. Unplug the old one from the spark plug and drop the new one down in the same place the old one goes. Then follow the old one with your hand and unplug it from the coil pack and plug the new one in. It's really not that hard, just a lot of fiddling around and sliding in and out from under the car. Like stomper said, get someone to help you by unplugging the old ones from the spark plugs and dropping the new ones down.

Is it anything like doing the leads on a coil pack? If so, remove the airbox and lose a few kilos and squeeze your arm under the intake manifold and access there

thankfully i have small hands/wrists, so i used to dangle them down through the openings in the runners on the manifold and slide my hand in and under from the front of the manifold, you get lots of scratches and nicks but hey works for me

This is what I did and managed to get it done. I'm not exactly a little guy, so it's certainly doable!

After doing it though, I will NEVER do it again! Rather a mechanic an hour of labour!

you guys are all doing the hard way.
it's hell easyer to do it from the top.

disconect and number the plug end of the leads.

take the whole air box out.

unclip the dizzy cap and push cap towards the back of the engine.

remove rotor and cap spacer.

pull the cap forward and out while fedding the leads through.

change leads over and number new leads.

get some tape and tape all the leads together. (make life easy)

feed the bundle back up the manifold and push cap far enough back to refit the spacer and rotor.

refit cap

plug leads onto spark plugs

conect coil lead to coil.

refit air box

should take about 20mins and leave all blood and skin where it should be.
