Hey im just wondering what kinda power people have got with a CAPA 80mm throttle body, a Vortec spacer on a BA XR8 5-speed manual??? Cos my brother is going to be getting these on his ute in a few weeks. It already has a cat abck exhaust but thats it. He is also getting a clutch from CAPA.

The base figure for XR8's is around 190-200 isnt it??? What have people got stock and with these mods???

BA XR8 is 260kw standard. With those mods you could be getting another 20 - 30kw. What you really want for it is an edit, frees them up nicely.

80mm throttle and spacer will = 0kW

They're the sorts of mods you get when you've already gone all out on other mods. The intake on the BOSS are pretty well flowing stock.

As mentioned get an edit, it'll make the most use of the exhaust, and be much better value for money.

Tell him not too bother. If he's really looking for power then get a blue power or g&d airbox, difilipo extractors and a tune. Only get a tune (custom) after a good airbox (not a crap ss inductions one) and full exhaust so you get the full potential out of it. Otherwise if he decides to add an exhaust or airbox later he will need to get it tuned again.

Stock you would prob be looking at 200ish rwkw. With the above mods around 260rwkw

For the prices CAPA for their gear, he could probably get a di-fillipo exhuast and flash tune.
P.S. Make up you own airbox and intake, it will cost you about a quarter of what the G&D ones are...

He is only getting a Throttle body cos his one has s**t its self and ford quoted him 600 for a new one and he car get a aftermarket one for less then 800 so y go factory when you can get better for a little bit extra. I told him to get a flash tuner and i think i might has convinced him abit cos he is looking in to it.

The f**k earns to much money

Fair enough, just don't expect the throttle body to do anything.

Tune and Exhaust are the big (easy) winners on the BOSS.

You should ask on here of ff.com.au if anyone has a stock T/B for sale, as a few guys have upgraded to bigger ones.
Might be able to save himself a lot of $$$
