what would it take.. im thinking very long term, but aim for about 500rwhp maybe less coz wanting only minimal lag etc etc..
couple small terbos? big ones? t3 45-50 trim? would i want the turbos forward and high(ie reversed mustang shorty headers) or down low or maybe very down low like near the cats? the APS ba xr8 kit does that.. if having turbos high how do they go around the power steering/aircon pumps and alt on the other side? reason for turbo over supercharging is just coz supercharging is just too common/simple. the engine will be running 165afr heads and gt40 tube intake(coz ive got em already so not gonna spend money on new set) but if i do this ill be upgrading block and going between 302 and 331 cubes. also will be looking at getting it all over and done with by 5800rpm(6k redline) will be done on budget too, not goin for speccy/show stuff just something that will work.

So you want something that isn't simple, done cheaply?
That's not always easy. |

cheers moose,
darkr, i reckon if ur smart, dont go for the expensive bits that do that same job as the cheaper ones, make a plan and Stick to it, yes i beleive that, relative to the complexity of the job(ie twin turbo v8 falcon), it can be done cheaply.

Id personnally probably go a single, you can use stock headers flipped over, add a cross pver pipe and flange and voila
or Theres a few dudes on FF runing completely stock E series 302's and getting 250rwkws or more with cooler, injectors and computer.

Size the turbo right and there should be no difference.

My first build was using two VG30 turbo's, then I high flowed them...They are now on an XP / blowthrough carb and it runs high 10's...
VG30's are T3 size .. though the exhaust housings are smaller in the VL turbo X's 2 would do the job... If you want to buy new ?? Some Precision SC61's would spool quick and nice.. Here's some second hand builds ...Forum... http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?board=15.0 The issues with low mount turbo's is oil return!! If they are lower than sump? Then you have to run a seperate sump under turbo then a transmission cooler pump to return oil to engines sump... If not the oil will leak through turbo seals and it WILL smoke... Pumps similar to http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/mocal1.htm

I can do you a pair of tb34's brand new in the box genuine garrett with full warranty for $900 each good for around the 400 hp each ideal for a twin set-up on a v8 or a 4.0.

hey thats my car....
the welds were done by mikes dyno tuning....they seal properly but havn't been ground flush but who cares what they look like....really as long as they seal and do the job i highly recommend doing this....it has double the power and the cost is minimal (sort of) and not everyone turbo's a v8 |
