So common areas for reducing road noise (not speaker rattle) would be the under boot carpet area, and the rear wheel arches?
How about if i pull the rear seat out and fill that area with dynamat/similar. Much proven difference to road noise out there?

The rear seat base sits flush with the floor, and it's a big wad of foam, probably does a fair bit of sound deadening. But wouldn't hurt to put more!!! You'd wanna do under all the carpet - boot, interior, etc. Boot lid/tailgate (sedan/wagon), behind the door trims, if you ever had the dash out behind there. |

Since getting the exhaust done on the GT-P, I want to do the entire boot. The exhaust is loud, and I don't want to stop that when I want to hear it (ie. heavy right foot), but even without drone (it's a nice system), it's louder at cruise/light loads, so I want to cut that out.
edit: and yeah, it's bitumen with a foil layer. Like the original dynamat. The dynamat extreme, is a a non bitumen based (I think foam impregnated with boron or some kind of heavy metal dust), with a foil layer. This Flashtac stuff works as well as the original dynamat (same same really), but not as good as the extreme, but there isn't much of a difference. And for the money you save, IMO it's a worthy compromise.

i went and found it at the hardware.....i thought it would be a mat, not a roll of tape lol
anyway i didnt get it..is any of the jaycar stuff good for its price? There's a bitumen one which is just under $30 a sheet, and there's another one that has heavy metals in it for $16 (the $16 says reduction in 100Hz is 17dB, is this a lot?) cheers

I recently purchased a Dynamat doorkit which contains 4 sheets, enough to do 2 doors for $80 off Ebay.
