I have come across a set of BA XR6 wheels, 17inch with decent tyres...
I want to fit them to my EA wagon, now, will the rims fit on without spacers, or will i need spacers?? What is the difference in offset between them?? Also, i thought i may as well ask, but has anyone else got BA XR rims on their EA EB ED?? Thanks, David

Ive been told NO
i have a 95 EF and wanted to do the same you have to use spacers but that illegal and if you take it to a ford dealer/service center they'll let the cops no or wot let you drive it out in SA i no that for a fact i had to get a set of look a-like rims from bridgestone who got them for some one else not sure how they look identical as the reall ones and only cost $1250 brand new with tires

I wanted to put them on my el as well, In QLD u just have to get adaptors not spacers cost a little bit more but legal
 not sure about SA but

Why dont they fit?? what do they hit against?? ive seen plenty of EL EF EA EB ED with AU Tickfords on them, and AU is same offset as BA BF...
i just bought some BF MK2 XR6 17s... :D

reason being mate, the au tickies are made in e series offset too, and must ppl run adapters

I have Au XR rims on my EB. Adaptors are available on E-Bay for around 300 bucks a set. They are illegal (but I'd love to see a cop stick his head in there and have a look; it'd nearly be worth the sticker
 ). Don't use spacers they are dangerous. The difference in offset is around 35mm.
Search for Ultimate Parts Australia or Ultimate Performance Australia (or something along those lines) on E-Bay, then give them a ring. He knows his stuff there. BTW I know several people using these now and they are running cars with 200+rwkw and haven't had a problem with them.

You can get those rims cheap on Ebay in e-series offset through this man, or I know a guy selling his in e-series offset (18") with rubber for $1400.

yer ive been running ba offset rims on my car with adapters for the last 1.5 years and had no hassle from the cops

I think what most are trying to say, is that if you have insurance, or not, if you have an accident and they find adapters/spacers, you wil be in a world of s**t.

Nope. I beleive the BA is a wider car but retains the same track as the E series and earlier.
If you go ahead with this, I cannot stress enought to get adaptors, not spacers. Spacers and the extra long studs that go with them are dangerous.

Theyre not much different to a spacer except that a spacer requires the use of big long studs in place of the original studs. This is because they have to run through the spacer. The length of this stud is what makes them dangerous.
Spacers: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Wheel-Hub-Spacer ... dZViewItem Despite the fact these are for a toyota, look at the thickness as these are fairly close the thickness required for the AU/BA/F wheels to fit. Think about the length of the stud required to go through this spacer then through the wheel. Then think about the leverage that there is gunna be on the end of this stud....... Adaptors on the other hand use the original stud. They bolt to this stud but also have their own studs (which btw you can get in any pattern you like..ie you could fit Ford rims to a holden using these thereby tripling the value of the car  ) to whcih your wheel will bolt to.
