I've removed the back pipe, the pcv valve (which snapped), the 4 bolt heads ontop of the cover but it won't come up?
Anything I missed? |

mate you prolly are in the same boat i was get a decent sized flat head screw driver and gently pri the cover up one side and gently rock side to side

Yeah I got it off by removing the washers and grommets.
It's an ED btw. how much should a new PCV valve cost? Also the cover is loose but there's no clearance at the back, There's a pipe with a yellow stripe, can I remove it? |

No too much $20-$30 perhaps, but make sure you get all the bits from the PCV out.

yeh its very fiddley to get off with the clearance at the back, helps if you have 2 sets of hands 1 to hold the hose out of the way and the other to fiddle with the rocker cover to get it off over the rocker gear

remove it as gett it out of the way yes but you need it it is the vacum line to the brake booster and patience is the key to getting it lined up right. did you get a calk gasket or the rubber one that has the gromets it the gasket it self if it is the rubber one just chuck the gasket on the head and use some gasket go and put the cover on... but if it is the calk one again put it the new groments in and but the gasket on with gasket goo and site the cover on making sure not to move the gasket.. and awhen tighting the top bolts on just make them firm as too tight will crackl the studs or even worse your head....

Hmmm what do you mean by getting it aligned right?
I just need to take off the pipe. If it wasn't for that stupid pipe I'd be finished by now |

the valves are cheap as chips.... only like 10 bucks from repco i think...
when prying off with a screwdriver be carfull not to do it too hard or you can f**k the head |

Hi There
With the PCV valve, make sure you get a metal bodied one. Especially if you're on gas - a small backfire can shatter a plastic PCV valve with bad results. Good Luck |

when you angle the screwdriver down into the lip of the head you can indint it seeing as its Very soft.... therefor causing oil leaks etc etc

Oh, I thought you were talking about the PCV valve.
Yeah I just hit the rocker cover with a mallet. There was also no type of glue or anything on the gasket until I put it on. Also I think my head gaskets on the way out so does that mean I'm gonna have to strip this glue and reapply after I fitted a new head gasket. It's blowing faint white smoke and I heard that's a gasket issue |
