My mate has a powerchip for sale, Bout $200 he wants, anyways.....

What do people think of it? i have heard one or two different reactions to it, so what is the general opinion on it?

If it's not tunable then i wouldn't bother, generic chips can gain but can also lose depending on the car.

they do make gains, not huge but noticeable, they aren't tuneable so its a set and forget system but for the price compared a 'tuneable' unit + dyno time, its not a bad purchase.

What ECU code was your mates car? If yours is not the same, then forget about it....the chip wont work for you.

Came out of exactly yhr same care, it was a gold 98 if i recall.

he neber got it dyno'd so not sure on power difference from stock.

Same year, and same model car wont necessarily have the same ECU code. If you decide to buy it, at least double-check before you hand over any cash.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with it for $200....money is better spent elsewhere.
