Yep sure enough all six bolts on the crank were loose enough to undo by hand. Amazing what a racket a simple thing like that can cause. So what is the likely cause, mechanical abuse or something else?

Proberly not torqued right from factory mate, also they proberly did not use any lock tight on the threads.

Well they're well and truly lock tight'd now

possibly you need a different harmonic balancer?
