hiI
magine being the first I6 ford 4lt with a head arrangement with Coates Spherical Rotary Valve , some of the claims are hard to believe but then again anything is possible. Imaging turn a Ford I6 4lt to 15000rpm plus or any other ford for that matter , we are talking big horsepower gains. Beat any BA 4 valvers per cylinder head mmmmmmmm Cylinderheadhttp://www.coatesengine.com/csrv.html http://www.mustangforums.com/m_1322343/ ... ey_/tm.htm cheers

lol. bolt that head onto a standard I6 and it will still chuck a rod by 6500.
Might make it rev more freely up to that point due to reduced weight, but thats about it. |

just as justfordima, I think he is on his 3rd bottom end now. the revlimiter is there for a reason and just cause the head can theoretically cope, I can't see the rest of the gear lasting past 7 grand once.
but yeah its nice in theory.

a long stroke big cube motor pullin 15000?? look at an F1.. they are 2 litre v8's or somethin and they rev 2 20,000.. imagine a ford 4L spinnin at 10g's!! wouldnt happen!! id think 7 grand would b pushin it

F1 is 2.5l V8's they pretty much top out at 20,000. they can spin em to about 24000, but for reliability they pretty much keep em under 19 grand. mind you they idle at 8,000 RPM!!! get about 100 kays out of a 70 l cell.
A I6 will spin to 7000. Once.

f**k me, I designed something like that ages ago when I was younger and used to draw a lot. I had no idea they actually existed, and were feasible.

^^^ lol. i remeber making up an active exhaust system, identical to the ones in the lambos, astons and so one today, about 6 years ago.
I dont think they were even released back then. should have patented it! |

I hope ford takes this up in the future, it would kick the s**t out of a normal head (valves etc). It flows well, half as many moving parts...
I want one. I had a similar idea once, but it involved larger shafts with the air actually going through them, ie a throttle body at each end of the 'Shaft', cheers |
