hey all

got a quote from the tyre factory this afternoon for a set of these: 18x8" tycoons with a reasonable brand rubber, and stage 2 lower (dropped by about 2.5") = $2000

well tyres are around $200 each, so that's $800.
Springs retail around $150 a pair, so that $300. I'm assuming at that price they're going to leave you with your standard shockabsorbers - which is definately not ideal, you should get shocks suited for lower springs.
Leaving $900 for labour (I assume balancing and wheel alignment too) and price of wheels.
I definately don't think that's it's an unreasonable price at all. Rather good actually.
O, and it would be worth paying some more and getting a camber kit done at the same time. And replacement shorter shocks.

id say go for it 18's with desent tyres, fitted, balanced and wheel alignment, lowered with new spring and shocks. then it would be a great price. if its not with shocks then reconsider.

I doubt shocks are included. I doubt camber kit included either. Even without shocks it seems reasonable as:

Tyres - $200.00 each x 4
Wheels - $150.00 each x 4
Springs - $150.00 a pair x 2
So total is $1,700.00 for parts alone.
So $300 for labour, of which about $50.00 is your standard balance and wheel alignment, so $250.00 for fitting of the springs.
Depending on what tyres they may be more or less expensive, but he said decent ones so I'd be saying for 18" they'd be more expensive if anything. I Also think 18" wheels are more around the $180.00 mark each.

The camber kits are a must ($59 at nth ringwood autoparts) or you will eat up tyres , I did.
