Hey everyone...I may suspect that my steering pump is slowly dying. It is a tad harder to steer sometimes and sometimes its fine. Anyways I got another steering pump from my EA which was replaced in 1999 or something, so is basically newer then my 1996 EL steering pump.

Was just wondering if the steering pumps are the same and interchangeable?

cheers

Hey phong, they should be interchangable, if they have the same mountings then it should be ok, only way to find out is to goto s***,rip every poor C*** off or ricobarn and grab some fluid and give it a shot.Whilst doing that you may want to check the condition of your hoses whilst the pump is off saves you doing it again.

they are the same pump.. only the pully on the front is defferent and you need the right tool to remove them (its a special puller)...ford tool number 7185 (T69L-10300-B)..

You might have to swap reservoirs, pressed metal housing, and if you do a new seal wouldn't go astray while youv'e got it off.

Grumbles
