I currently have an 85 xf with a t5 in it. Want i want to know is will an au t5 bolt up to the bell housing and to the motor. Are the input and output shafts the same length as mine.

Cheers

are you absolutely positive that it's a T5? those cars only came with Borg Warner 5 speeds which were s**t. If it is a T5, they stayed the same for a while.. its only the V8 ones and the 6 ones that had any difference. My guess would be that an AU one would be similar to an EL which would fit.

Might be easier/cheaper to get an EF/EL one, they are basically the same.. the biggest difference was from EA and on... the EA had different first gear ratio, and only a 3 bolt clutch (as opposed to 6 bolt in later models).

Cheers

yeah, I just thought that an earlier model AU might have used the EL T5... but yeah, im pretty sure the AU's T5 was changed once again.

Cheers

Late xf's had t5's. You'll need to get AU bellhousing if you want to to bolt it to AU sump.

yeah I know that, but he said 85? it was the very few last XF's that had a T5... pretty rare.

Cheers

4.1l XF's that were 5 speed had T5's : Otherwise they had the single rail.

The 3.3's had Borg Warner 5 speeds that didnt hold up to the 4.1
