hey all, bought a new JVC headunit for the fairlane the other day and i installed it and now i get i high pitched squeel through the speakers when the ignition is turned to ON, then when i start the car it squeels with the revs. my old kenwood didnt have this problem.

all the speakers are running off the factory ford amp (rewired) the subs are on a seperate amp (seperate earths)

could it be the amp or is the headunit stuffed?

power cable is on drivers side of the car, RCA's and speaker cables on passinger side. using factory loom adaptor to run the headunit

well if its squealing with the revs then it has to do with the power wiring too close to the speaker wiring, i had the same prob with my pioneer head unit when i hooked it up to my stock ed, so i pulled it out and seperated the power and ign wiring from the speaker wiring, i taped them up seperatley

as stated the power is on the drivers side, everything else is the passinger. could it be the remote wire?

well its sorted... suffed amp... it was the factory ford amp i was using for the speakers. i swapped amps with my gf and there was no noise. so i gave her the amp back and hooked up the speakers to the headunit (10 minute job ;) ) and now she is sweet...

prolly just blown the ground wire on the rca input on the amp so its picking up engine noise through the shield of the rca
