I have a k&n pod filter setup in box, it was the first mod i done it made my car sound a bit different and felt a bit more responsive on the throttle. cant say it done a whole lot though. either way you go, k&n panal or pod filter you will find no difference in the two....

pod in modded stock airbox here.

good pod, or good panel, makes no differance.
all depends on how you setup each one.

sooo many choices in your poll up there.

I am lead to believe that there is immesurable differences between after market air filters for road cars. Ryco, K&N, and the "green one" (can't remember the name), pods, all flow basically the same. It is only when you need that extra .0001 of a second, or that extra .0002 Kw, that things need to count.

Just make sure you are sucking cold air.

i was always skeptical about whether or not pods actually did anything... since changing to a pod (without the box) ive come to the conclusion, they do pretty much d**k all but sound good long as you keep it oiled.

go K&N or dont bother.

the ef/el box can fit a pod but earlier ones cant. i suggest maybe get mandrel bent intake piping and a decent panel will give better results than just a pod.

with the mendrel bent piping, is that just the intake pipe you buy from supercheap and that? iv got a K&N panel inside my ED airbox and will prolli get the EA intake tube tomorrow, would it be better to do this or the mendrel bent pipe?

nah the mandrel bent piping is for ef/el as they have this giant plastic monstrosity which is very restrictive. it goes from the top of their BBM loops around the top of the rocker cover then back around to the air box.

their throttle body connects to the top of their airbox lid.

this is what it looks like with the mandrel bent pipe

needs the airbox still tho or its probly doing more harm than good sucking in hot air.

im no physicist but id say it would work better with the standard airbox and a large snorkel.

instead of this thing

Well I just installed a pod in side my standard air box took it for a spin and it has improved the throttle response quite a bit as my EF is fairly standard besides a lukey 2 1/2 exhaust

Here’s a photo if you need a hand to install your own

it's a little tight but it works and it only cost $80 but thats deppends on how much you want to spend on a pod
