hi, i have an ef futura with the el motor in it (Has the trans dip stick). i bought the car not to long ago and its got a pod filter on the end. i was wondering is this better than a stock air box an a ss cold air induction intake? cause would the ss air induction get enough air as the ef shape has no air grill like the el does. just wondering what to do. would it be worth swapping it over?
thanks. p.s my car is also on gas if this makes any diffrence. |

SS Induction snrokel
K&N pannel air filter and custom 2nd CAI would be the best. However the price of SS is a joke do I'd just go with a Tickford snorkel (see the technical documents and the sticky in this section). O, and since it's on gas you'll more than likely need a retune if you play with the air intake. |

SS Inductions = near $300 for a little pipe that is shaped slightly differently and has a pretty little SS emblem on it. Absolute rip off. May as well buy a Twin Electric Supercharger setup
I've got an EF Futura as well (but not with an EL motor...) I noticed a bit of a difference when I fitted an AU XR intake pipe and K&N Panel Filter. Total cost was just over $100.

Just some advice about k&n filters and pod filters.
on the back of my k&n panel filter box it states that they flow at 441CFM and the paper panel filter flows 319CFM. In the January edition of Autosaloon magazine they did bench tests on TEN common pod filters. These are the results from the highest to lowest flowing; 1) 3A Racing Brand(made by Simota);$29.95; Flow 601.2CFM and 2nd in Filtration 2) Redline Airforce1;$40; Flow 596.9CFM and 10th in Filtration. 3) Simota Power Stack Ws-002; $29.95; Flow 594.2CFM and 5th in Filtration. 4) K&N RR3301; $125; 579.6CFM and 1st in Filtration. 5) Trust Airinx; $120; Flow 554.7CFM and 7th in Filtration. 6) HKS Direct Drive; $125; Flow 539.6CFM and 9th in Filtration. 7) Apexi Power Intake; $125; Flow 533.3CFM and 6th in Filtration. 8) Tenzo ws002-CH; $19.95; Flow 522.8CFM and 4th in Filtration. 9) AME Dryflow; $100; 519.2CFM and 3rd in Filtration. 10) No Name (Trust Imitation); $15; Flow 473.3CFM and 8th in Filtration. So basically what they found is that a cheap a*** paper pods like Tenzo, are suppose to outflow a k&n panel filter on a bench test. I totally disagree with this because those $20 pods aren't much chop to start with...... Cheers....

Ive just ran my secondary intake piping 3 inch to under car, facing forward so air is forced in to airbox which has a pod in it. Im gonna have to get the ags retuned cos its leaning out a little now, especially on these cold mornings
