hi i was wondering couls i hurt anything if i grinded off the OHC or FORD OHC logo off the front of the tappet cover??? just wondering if i could do this and i could weld GT or my initials or something on it.

I just had a Speedflow billet oil cap welded onto some old alloy rocker covers (Cleveland).

Take it somewhere where they are competent welders and fabricators. The goose who did mine distorted the cap and it got stuck on the thread. (didn't realise it was a threaded cap derrrrrr!). Not happy. It took me several hours with a hand file to carefully remove the stuck parts.

Its very easy to distort the alloy apparently!

If i could give you some advice its this....find a place that does CNC engraving. Then give them a scan of what you want on your rocker cover. The CNC mill will just whirr away and voila....a neat custom rocker cover! I've seen it done on heads and manifolds and it looks trick. (see pic)

I've just started looking for someone to do this so if you come up with anyone let me know.

cool i might start researching it i scored a freebie ea rocker cover out of the scrap metal bin to day at work. CNC seems like the way to go. might have to find some decent pictures of ford logos or something OR OR OR i might steal one of them ford mod logos people are mucking around with now that would be very different
