I just bought an ed and it makes a grinding noise when turning but only when on concrete and standing still.
i checked the power steering fluid level and its a little low so i will top up this arvo, but could this be the problem? what are other possible problems to look for? |

let us know where the grinding appears to come from. get someone to do the steering so you can figure out where. If its mechanical it shoudlnt be hard to locate where, then the guys on here might be able help

With your description it sounds like the grinding is the tyres on the concrete making the noise. What kind of griding do you mean, metal to metal??

I bet he means the small fast shuddering thru the steering wheel.. someone suggested rack and pinion, I thought power steering pump. It happens when there's a lot of traction, ie not rolling.
Wasn't it you jjohno in another thread, you just got an ED right? |

If it's making a moaning/grinding sorta noise, it usually means the p/steering fluid is low. Most of the time that's due to a leak somewhere in your steering rack. I know i'll be up for a new one soon...
