Hay has anyone ever changed the handbreak from that silly in dash one to a center consol lever style before??
Is/would it be difficult? Coz it would make life soooo much easyer. Cheers.

hahahaha busted. not just that but iv got a few radios mounted near it and its annoying having it there. So just thort of moving it. simple right??

I have thought of the same thing for the same reason. Have seen a couple on here that have been modded but can't remember whose they were  Far too many rums ago

I got rid of my handbrake the other week ...
oh wait i re read the post your talking about something different. you shouldnt beed a mod plate, there is people on here somewher ethat have put EF/L interiors in to EA-D and changed the handbrake. I think its just a matter of changing the brackets over, maybe cutting a whole in the floor lol

Not as easy as one would think.
The existing dash h/b has a very long travel which is what is needed to actuate the rear h/b mech and not have them drag. The EF/EL handbrake hads a very much smaller pull because the EF/EL uses seperate drums for the h/b. I tried modding the lever system to get the required movement but it does not seem to work well. Not enought pull to actuate the h/b well and if set to work ok the h/b drags when in off position. From those who I spoke too about this said that they had replaced the whole rear axle and used the full h/b system from the EF/EL. You can fit the centre h/b with a bit of fiddling, but to do it properly you need to cut a section from the floor and replace it with the appropriate piece cut from an EF/EL. Most likley to need engineers cert. So its up to you if you want to fiddle around, but be prepared to get fraustrated with it if you do not go the EF/EL route. Please let me know if you find out how to get it working. Good luck
