Howdy all!

Does anyone know if the triangular chrome inserts for the side mouldings and front bumper strips for an EL Fairmont Ghia are available? I remember not long ago, someone posted up a website that sold rolls of it to be able to replace all the stripping, enough for one car.

If nobody knows of the site, does anyone know of ANYWHERE in Australia that sells it by the metre?

Sorry, been a while since I last looked on there. Just had a quick look under EB Falcon and they're still listed there.

i think its NLA from ford, plus it isnt real chrome! its a rubber/plastic strip covered in chrome crap.

someone suggested the chrome that signwriters use on signs..dunno if it would be any good though

I have replaced chrome strips on a couple of bumpers and just used the stick on rolls from Supercheap Auto.

It's just the same chrome covered plastic ford uses, and is available in a few different profiles and sizes. It's really sticky and I haven't had any problems with discolouration or it cracking or peeling in around 4 years.

If you can't find the right shape at Supercheap, try Repco or somewhere that sells to trade - or better still, pop down to your local smash repairer's and ask them where they get it when they need it. If they only buy it in bulk, they might be happy to sell you some, especially if you sweeten the deal by throwing in a few cans!
