help wanted : IRS setup to install in AU series 2 Wagon
i have read a few www sites which say that fairmont and ghia models came with IRS suspension in the rear end... does that mean if i can get my hands on a IRS setup for a AU it will just bolt straight in with out cutting or welding any part of the underbody if some one has a answer to my question that would be greatly appreciated.

I would've thought it would be a big job, as the wagons have a leaf sprung rear.
Is there any particular reason for wanting an IRS setup on the wagon? For the effort and money that i think would need to be put it, there wouldn't be a great benefit, apart from the setup being unique. |

I think you will find that the IRS was only available in AU Fairmont and AU XR sedans, not wagons. I could be wrong, but i'm 99.9% sure that is correct.

Wagons were leaf only. So unless you want to get it certified forget it.

Leafs are the s**t when it comes to carrying capacity and towing which is why there still used on wagons and utes. |

the wagon doesnt have the same shock mounts as the sedan, thus very hard to fit IRS

If you want an IRS wagon, go buy a Commo.
