OK guys when replacing the ignition lock/switch and smartlock thing in an ED what do I have to do to make it work..

problem is the ignition itself is buggered, seems to be in the barrel steering lock setup

easy fix replace with a good second hand one...all plugged up and no go..

does smartlock need to learn I have changed something also the smartlock light is flashing like mad after reconnecting old ignition..

any help would be greatly appreciated

yep read your workshop manual it explains it all in there

now theres a good point but I dont happen to have a workshop manual which is why I am asking...
