Im in same boat as you ea falcon
except ive put ef motor into my 90 ea falc have same extra plug as you its in loom that stays in car and goes into fire wall under brake booster
Im thinking that we could splice it into the one plug thats replaced it as the wires are the same colours and must be after the same info
hopefully someone replys that actually knows what its for other wise Ill just try running car without it and see how it goes

we have put everything back together and guess what......IT DONT START
Im not getting any spark......................

the manifold loom wires are not the same colour as the cpu plugs wires but they all line up except for the grey white wire in the manifold loom.........the cpu plug doesnt have it so thats the one that ive spliced into the old idle control loom thats on the passenger side inner guard.
I would have thought that someone would know how to do a cfi to mpfi 1990 4 spead auto conversion.

where do i go from here ...........is it worth going to an auto electrician?

ANYONE

What model car was the MPFI set up off??
Ive heard if you use a loom other than the EA 3.9MPFI loom then they dont spark.
I had to track down an MPFI ea loom for mine...

Also, i think the easiest way to get to the coil is from underneath.. thats how i change them at work.. but then again, we have a hoist, its a pain in the a** on the ground..

finally finished the conversion if i didnt have all the dramers like having the wrong throttle body and loom then taking the whole manifold of because i was getting no spark just to fine out it was a rooted dizzy modural the whole process of converting the car to mpfi wouldn't take more than 1 maybe 2 days to do
tip to every one make sure you get the right parts for your car throttle body and looms and ecu must correspond with your car and the transmission you have
cheers....

Hi guys, I'm looking at doing this conversion myself, on my EB, only thing is its dual fuel. Would this require any extra / different parts?
Also I've never seen the air filter box from a MPFI or later engine only the "tennis racquet" but from I've seen it just sits in the front right hand corner, only thing is its already occupied on my car, I've put a photo here to show you guys what its like and also to ask, would the air filter box fit??

Thanks for your help[/img]
