If i were to (hypothetically) convert my car to manual, would i just have to go into QLD Transport and tell them. I don't have to go over the pits or anything.

and insurance companies wouldnt have a problem either should they?

I converted mine and have notified the insurance company and they just listed it as another mod and were ok with it.

But i havnt told Transport yet, i guess i should. I cant see any problem with it as its all genuine parts and is a straight forward swap.

prob only problem would be is if you have a car that was not avaliable in manual, eg, fairmont/ghia/fairlane/ltd etc

I am not from QLD but I'd suggest you tell your insurance company. if you were to get into an accident and they find that you have done a mod which is not covered by them, then you are screwed. Notify anyone that has something to do with your car. So QLD Transport and insurance company.

just my 2c

in WA you have to get it noted by the pits.

they guy just said bring it down, we will look at it. go wow, its a manual, look clutch and all that s**t. and write your out the permit to get it changed on your rego. blah blah.

he said they dont bother with a full inspection unless the whole car looks s**t.

also, WA, not sure about others, they dont care that fairmont wasnt a manual option, his words were, to me their all falcons.

Anyone roughly know how much you are looking at to get it converted?
