Mate and i have got an old EL Fairmont. It's a fun R&D vehicle.
It had a recon motor about 20,000 k before we got it. Yellow sticker means it was cheap. It's a auto. So far we've done * Extractors * 2.5 exhaust. * JMM Dev 3 hl cam * 2800rpm stall. * 3.9: 1 diff gears. * Pod filter. It goes quite well and feels like a 14 second car. We intend to take it to the Kwinnana drags once the track re opens later this year. My question is how do people feel about putting a nitrous kit on it. Say a 150 hp set up? Would the ECU have a fit or not ? Any one done it or heard of it done on an inline 6 ? On the surface it seems like a cheap way to maybe sneak in to the 13's. |

i remember talking to a guy with rego stockeb, he had a dev5 from jim mock and was running a nitrous set up. he was pulling 12's if i am correct.
jim mock has also installed nitrous on his eb for a while. so its defanitly do-able, and from what ive herd the gains atre worth it

Mate I will definately help you out with that
As long as everything is fueled right you would be pulling really low numbers. (I know people with stock cars pulling 2 secs off normal with just a 40 shot tuned) The same fueling problems arise with nitrous, the stock pump might not hold up to well, so chuck another on As for nitrous most are rated at flowing 140 - 150 max so that would be about the limit for a single solenoid setup, assuming the engine would survive. You shouldnt have any problems with the ecu. |

the nos brand multi fit 6cyl kit does up to 100hp (single soloniod and nozzle)
the V8 kit does 75 to 125hp. they take feul from the high pressure line befor the rail. you should probaly look at a better feul pump. the kits come with every thing you'll need, though you may find you'll have to ditch the micro switch bracket and make your own. I've fitted a few of these kits at work, and for a basic install you shoud be able to get it done in a day. if you need to make it look like it's not there it deffinatly takes alot longer. you should be able to get 75 in with out needing to touch the timming but any more then that and it's better to play it safe. just follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any trouble. |

Just a side question, is the pod in the box ?
If it's just bare you will be pulling in hot air and losing power. |

yeah, definitely do it!!
As already mentioned - upgrade to a walbro 255l/hr fuel pump and look at upgrading your ignition too. The only way you'll kill it is a bad tune.. so be careful
