i have an fl sedan and have been looking into getting lpg
all of the installers i haver spoken to have will only putthe tank in the boot i want to keep that room for my subs can i get a tank to go under my car and still keep my spare tyre i only want straight gas has anyone else had there car done this way |

not enough room.
if you look at wagons some of the tank protrudes below the chasis. but very little of it. there's not enough room - and this requires cutting down the petrol tank in half. your only option is for a donut tank in the spare wheel well and move the spare wheel. of modify the petrol tank and wheel well to fit the tank in there - and still move the spare wheel. |

i had also been told about somethin called scuba tanks that can be joined togather they are not scuba tanks! misinformation these are basically 3 small cylindrical tanks put together in a "flat pack" used on the dedicated gas cars under the boot floor to go straight gas u would need to rip the fuel tank out and get a set of teh 3 tanks mounted specifically in there!

the fuel tank is an odd shape, won't get much LPG tank in there.

i have a staight gas wagon, with 64 litre gas tank underneath
no petrol tank spare wheel is in the boot, on a bracket, drivers side i was told scuba tanks are not being manufactured anymore, so good luck on that front the installer had to install a "tub" which was just a big bit of sheet metal screwed under the boot, and is flat near the front, and cylindrical around the tank, and protects the tank this was a special order item, and might not be available anymore either, but worth a try, and maybe try wreckers for one

I have seen "scuba" tanks at the wreckers. I have also seen the cut down petrol tank and tub to suit a wagon there too. Its a simple matter to have them re-tested for use.
My wagon has this setup. I will see about picking up some more parts next time I visit the wreckers for my new fairmont wagon. |

My wagon has this setup. I will see about picking up some more parts next time I visit the wreckers for my new fairmont wagon. It's easy enough to do on the wagons as they have the nice square steel tank easy to get to and chop and change. I've got the same set up as you've outlined above. But on sedans it's a different story. |

If you don't want a huge tank then you may be able to get a few small tanks or just 1 50ltr tank perhaps?
I had a work hilux with a 50ltr tank under the chassis you get about 250klm from it so I was filling up daily |

The other Option is using a dounut tank,that is what been used ford territoryand the spare tyre is monted where the & seat use to be |
