then change the dash too simple lol
you could always cheat and buy el then change all the pannels and lights on the out side of it so it looks like a eb |

I just put EF Fairmont trims in my EB last weekend.
The trims and EB dash meet up fine. I am very happy with the outcome. You will need to drill a few holes, a 4.5 mm drill does the trick, and bend the door handle rod (pain in the a**) but I love the finished result. BenJ

So apart from the physical components of actually installing the dash, what are the catches re the wiring?
Do you need to move to an EF/EL ECU? and do you have to run the EF/EL steering column? and could I get away with not using Smart Lock if I can still use the EB ECU? How about using the EF/EL top pad and EB bottom half of the dash? I really need a whole bunch of parts to play jigsaw with. LOL. BenJ

wiring plugs are completely different, change all wiring in the car is easiest.
running EF ECU would be needed if u were using EF dash etc. using bits and peices from different cars will just cause more headaches. any steering column can be used but the wiring again will need changing, EF/EL steering column needs EF/EL steering rack so something else to keep in mind.

Does that include the engine loom? Or can I leave the EB one in and just use the EF dash loom?

A centre h/brake is part and parcel of an EF/EL dash install - MRE's photos don't show it but I'd say the footbrake operated one would need to be fitted for the benchseat.
