If your parkers and reverse lights come on, after seeing smoke, the wires may have fused together, I would be getting it seen to, before it causes more damage...

Had a similar thing happen to me years ago, when I pulled the dash apart, I found about 4 wires had melted and fused together... but check behind the fuse holder itself, for sometimes it could be coming from there..

Well it won't be a dead short - not far off though.
Inst Batt feeds the inst cluster and the trip computer - try unplugging each (trip comp first),and put your fuse back for a few secs each time. What electrically related work have you done recently ??

Seriously, if you leave it it could set your car on fire. That would be Bad.

IIRC the INST BATT fuse should be 10A - it isn't anything silly like 30A I hope ??
