I have just changed my powersteering pump over with a reco one. At low idle the powersteering seems really tight as if there is no power steering at all does anyone know what it could be?

Did you cycle the steering to ensure all air is out of the system?

if not above could be the rack, i had the same problem, well having the same problem, now, i reblaced my leaking pump then bout month later getting real heay stearing when going slow, bout to have it all checked over though.

Yeh i flushed out the lines and rotated the steering wheel one pump was fitted. I used proper power steering fluid. But i think it might be the power steering switch which adjusts the idle to compensate for the powersteering at low idle

my boss says it doesnt really matter what power steering oil you use flush it and clean the lines because reinstalling a new pump with dirty lines isnt going to do any good for the Rebuilt pump
