i fiited some front king lows to a mates car today

passenger side was fine but when i did drivers side with spring located in strut it did not line up with top shocker housing holes

i had to back off top rubber mount about 30mm to get the bolts to line up
-so there is about a 30mm gap from tip of spring to the end stop in the top rubber mount

and yes the bottom of the spring is located correctly and the top rubber mount was inserted correctly in bracket - notch line up with indent in rubber

got me stuffed - i done a few of these and i never had that prob b4

i used existing (original ) top rubber mounts - there not different for kings are they - springs are 2nd hand but dont look to be cut or altered in any way??

You don't line the top insulator into the mount in the same spot, it has to be moved

that dont sound right??

i didnt have to do that for the passenger side

and the top insulator has 3 locating dimples in the rubber and the bracket and also a "v" slot in the side of top insulator holder that lines up with a dimple on the side of the rubber mount

Lowered springs dont start and finish in the same spot as standard springs. What you should have done is mark the very outside of the steel seat (seat with the 3 bolts) then when fitting the new springs remove the rubber saddle from the seat and sit in position on the new spring, then with the seat and the mark facing the outside as the shock will sit on the lower control arm press it over the saddle. This way all the 3 bolts will line up when the lower shock mount is positioned onto the lower control arm.
