Need some suggestions,
I have had me car at the footy for last couple weekends, sitting on the fence sinking cans listening to the radio... Go to start and flat battery.. I know i shouldnt be leaving the radio on for too long with a pretty normal battery So i'm off to get a new batt, wat should i get? keepiing in mind that i have the 2 subs and couple amps that drain a fair bit of power Any other tips?? Thanks i advance

Recharge the battery?
it should be fine, ive drained mine before and it still does me good. Just turn off your amp when listening to music. Takes a lot less power. Also, make sure interior lights are off, aircon is off, as well as the fan.

yep.. that will do it every time... If your looking at changing the battery go for a Delkor Calcium Battery, they dont cost much more than a std one, and are a better battery than the normal lead acids. |

It happend today even when i was just vacuming, had the subs on quietly for about 20 mins and it was flat..Not completely flat, flat enough so it coudlnt start but still had power for radio and everythen else I'm going to ask a stupid question.. and u'll pick up here that i'm an absolute s**t.. to just turn the amp/subs off, can i just turn them totally down/off using the sub control in me headunit, or is there a switch on the amp? i looked and couldnt find anythen on the amp, i didnt want to take the faceplate off aswell Its a rockford 1.1000 bd amp Cheers

what ive done in my car was bought one of those 50c on/off switches and put it on the signal cable so when u don't want the amp on just turn the switch off
easy fix |

Yeah that would be the easiest way. Get any kind of switch you want, and put it in line with the Remote wire that runs to your amp. So if ther supply is cut, then the amp wont turn itself on.

Get the next size up in battery, what 4WD'ers use, I think its a 70amp battery 13 plates from memory, their a heavier duty battery, theyre about an inch longer.

why put a switch in to turn off the amps? why not just turn off the HU? if its just the sub i understand. I just recently bought a 550CCA battery and have had no problems with drainage, even with 2 amps running. Its simple a sign your battery is old and not taking charge.

um for reference i had dead batetry it was $100 for the ef. and i also gota a larget abtt fro my audio its an allrounder (deep cycle/cranking) and rated at 825cca/120ha and was $200 (its at my feet at desk waiting fo rmy to go into the car lol as is my old battery)
its 440 cca model 350ef just as wide as bigger batt but 1 inch lower and 3 inches shorter. supercheap/repce stock battery trays and its very easy to swap/mpd tem over just get teh large of teh 2 tays and mount 4wd batt (supercharge gold 800CCA) |

Mate also check your alternator, it may have a fault in it, if the battery keeps dying it may not be charging the battery the way its meant to.
