Should have it written on the id plates on the passenger side plenemn chamber.

But I'd guess about 1700 to 1800kgs.

i wouldn't have thought they were that heavy, a fairmont ghia is 1550 or thereabouts, so it shouldn't be more than 100kg heavier, but i could be wrong.
also, the c4 is heaps lighter than the FMX gearbox.

umm..... wtf? the XD 351's IIRC had the FMX, only the 302's would've scored the C4 (as well as maybe some of the 6 cyl's tha were taxi's)

i was just stating that the c4's are lighter than the FMX, f**k me what gearbox comes in each model, just thought that might have been useful info.

Check the weight of a XD V8 4.9L Fairmont sedan auto, I can't remember what the manual said but when I got it weighed it weighed more than Ford said (1520kgs) and I was using alloy snow flake wheels (standard is steel wheels), no tools, no spare, little fuel, no A/C pump, no stereo, no speakers, it did have Pwr Steer and a very light factory tow bar (tongue and ball removed). I basically gutted the car for the scales, I wanted it under 1510kgs for a $90 less a year rego (I am a tight a*** at times, and don't like giving anything to the RTA, I spent $10 to save $90 at rego time).

I was going to go home, remove the tow bar and come back to do the weight again, as soon as the bloke heard this he signed it off as 1500kg, he did want to walk back to the scales that day  .

So I wouldn't believe a factory manual, just use it as a guideline.
