Well at the advice on snap (thanks mate) i did a big degreasing and cleaning the engine with a rag to make it all oil and grease free.

so after 24 hours and driving less than 5km in that time i find this.

cant tell exactly where its from unless i get under it properly, then itd be hard with the frame in the way.

where would you guess be? and how bad does it look?

im leaning towards the crank seal or timing cover obviously

Oil can sweat up the crank along the keyway, and come out in the middle of the balancer. Have a look with a mirror.

well the way i look at it is, if your spending more on oil then what a rebuild would cost then id rebuild it. you can leave it but it will only get worse.
