I HAVE A 98 AU, WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 80+ IM GETTING REALLY BAD SHUDDERING/SHAKING FROM MY GEAR SELECTOR.... ANY SUGGESTIONS WHAT THIS COULD BE?? GEAR BOX MOUNT???? MY STEERING WHEEL ALSO SHAKES QUITE BADLY TOO

Auto??

Just souns like something's unbalanced... wheel/tyre (altho would have to be pretty badly unblanced.!!), brake discs or tailshaft?

I had a crook harmonic balancer once and that had some pretty nasty vibrations at certain rpms...

yes it is auto, it is very bad shaking in the selector tho.. its literally going back and forward, not in and out of gear though... sorry didnt reaslise... thankyou

Also, check your engine mounts. When they go all sorts of movement happens

if the t-bars moving backwards and forwards, chances are the bushes are stuffed on the upper and/or lower diff control arms, this is a common problem since the xe/xf's

happens in my EL too.

i think its got something to do with the mounts for the tranny and everything.

i just put my hand on it most of the time

when i got my el they put new bushes in the sclecter and it fixed it 4 me any way

mine shakes when i boot it and it goes back to 1st then i back off then it goes back into 3rd high or 4th it makes the shifter move an somtimes thump

when my wheel align was WAAAAY out, steeriung wheel shaking horribly though, the gear selector (when car was auto) would shake and make one hell of a noise.
