Hey guys, picked myself up another t5 last week, went to fit it and i noticed the input shaft was almost twice as long, and the output shaft was more inset than the one thats currently in my car, suffice to say i didnt use it. Tried to swap input shafts but the gears are different aswell, they dont mesh properely. Anyway my question is, what would this t5 i picked up last week come out of? i noticed on the top it has basic1 cast into the top and the one in the car currently has basic3

cheers

chris

yea i was thinking maybe xf or v8, but i cant find anything on the net so now i have a very heavy paperweight sitting in my garage and not knowing what to do with it, i counted the gears on the input shaft and the numbers are the same, they are just a different helical cut, altho the splines on the input shaft are slightly different to. If anyone knows what it is let me know so i can offload it lol

didnt early vn's use t5's?

If you swap input shafts, the countergear should go with it.

Measure your input shafts to figure out what you have: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=47400
