Has anyone got any advice on doing this?
my plan is to buy a craige davies switch kit from supercheap and go to the wreckers and buy a thermofan. Is it hard taking the old fan off? is there previous topics/articles explaining how i go about it? |

Your pretty much spot on.....
all you need to take off your old fan is.. A big shifter and a screwdriver jammed between the water pump 10mm bolts, while you undo the main nut for the fan also its a reverse thread... so a doing up motion is loosening it. they can be annoying to take off some swear words always involved in doing this lol If you ever do a Ef/el injection conversion you can use the computer and relay box with that to control the fans as well.

You also need some relays, some decent 4g wire and connectors.
The standard top radiator hose will fit after you shorten it, and you will need to drain the coolant, so while you have done that I would recommend changing the thermostat, and you may even consider getting the EF/EL thermo housing and top hose, but only if you have a XH snorkle. You can drop by if you like to see my set up. PM me if you want to. Regards BenJ
