can anyone tell me what the electronic transmission controller does , i have found one in my el xr8, does this control the gear changes

You mean a cheap shiftkit?

Makes more pressure in the lines and makes the shifts harder and maybe quicker. Not too good for wear on the box if used frequently

Or if he's talking about the box hiding up the dash in the drivers footnwell (on the airbox). It actually controls the transmission. (the 6 cylinders do it in the ECU itself).

Hey bud, I responded to your PM saying I haven't got one, but just realised I've actually got an NF Fairlane V8. So, if the EF/NF V8 trans controllers are the same as the EL V8 trans controllers, then I have what you need!

Hopefully someone here can confirm or deny if they are the same part!
