all relays will click when activated... turn your lights on and listen to it click.

sound to me that either your not getting enough charge back into your battery (faulty altinator) or the battery is on its way out. how often is the car driven? as if you dont drive it enough the battery only gets a surface charge which will dissapear very quickly.

is it only when the car isnt running?

for a starters id add an extra 4g wire from the back of the altinator to the battery positive terminal to make sure the power is getting back to the battery.

hope this helps somewhat

if you dont mind me asking how would a tranny cooler effect thermo's? its just an oil line from the gearbox to the cooler then into the radiator

hi the auto trans controller does affect the thermos as it is a computer under the dash to the left hand side of the steering colum, it wires back into the ecu and the bcm, in these models ef & el they have 3x seperate items 1 is a ecu on the left handside of the car in the kick panel, then you have the electronic trans controller and then the bcm, now i have to try and find a trans controller with the same part number regards

yep if i grab the plugs that go into the controller and push on them etc the thermo fans come on and the relays start clicking and the lights flicker in time with the relays which indicates that there is a short in the controller

If it turns out to be a coincidence and its still doing it afterwards then check to see if there are 2 heavy core wires (usually purple and yellow and usually close to battery) going into a little silver box. If there is its a circuit breaker and when faulty they do exactly that. I just replaced one on a car last week.
