i was wondering if you can tighten your headlight switch??? my is lose and nob has heaps of three play

Mine is as loose as a knob and has heaps of free play.

You can carefully prise the knob off - use 2 flatblade screwdrivers, but take your time - don't rock it around too much, as they are flimsy.

Try tightening the mounting ring with a pair of snipe nose pliers.

If the spindle itself flops around, it's probably better to replace it with one from a wreckers - you'll need one from any E series equivalent fairlane/fairmont/ghia/LTD - look for a green coloured connector on the back.

when i had an el mine was wobbly and i found it was not the entire switch but just the top section had 1 side of the bracket broken. very hard to fine one that is not broken in cappacino color so settled with a grey 1 but it worked good ever after
