Hey everyone. Sorry to hear about the hardware failure. Hopefully this website will become even more popular than before!

Recently my EBII Falcon has been blowing heaps of white smoke from the exhaust when i increase the revs of the engine. I also noticed that petrol is dripping out of the exhaust at the end of the car. Not much but I assume that is what is causing the white smoke. I'm pretty sure its not engine oil burning as I only changed it recently and it still smells fine, not burnt at all. Could anyone let me know what they think is happening? I'm thinking that not all the petrol is being combusted and is leaking into the exhaust. I already tried injector cleaning fluid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Id be hoping and knowing that its not petrol, but rather condesation. black smoke is generally excess petrol, blue is generally oil, can remember what white is. Is it only happening while cold?

white smoke is most commonly associated with water, thus either there is a build of condensation the exhaust and dont worry about it or it is loosing coolant into the exhaust which would ultimately mean cracked head or leaking headgasket

Would be coolant/water or Oil, possibly from head gasket failure.
I think all our cars blow a bit of black smoke LOL.

Oh ok. I'm hoping its not petrol but when I put a toothbrush in the exhaust pipe and sniffed the fluid, it smelt like kinda diluted petrol. Not as strong as normal but didnt smell like coolant or just water. Are there any other checks to determine whether the head gasket is at fault? Also if i rev the car a fair bit and let go of the accelerator, the car will rev really low and nearly stall for a second and then return to normal. Any ideas?

i think the head gasket is a safe bet, my car was doing the same thing before i changed the heads.

this is most likely to be of no use but my 85 barina i had ran soooo rich that every 5-6 seconds enough petrol fumes would build up to shoot a flame out the a*** end. i didnt know about it untill one night one of my mates spotted it.

Head gasket, get it checked but not cheap to replace.. Say about $600-800 with parts supplied and depending on if the head has any cracks in it or if you need to source a new head. Overheated it at all?

yeah, my XD has been blwing a small cloud of white/blue smoke, only on start-up in the morning, or when the engine is cold. The car runs beautifully, so I'm not really worried, just curious ?

mabey you could adjust the mixture, it might be running a bit rich, and the white smoke should be just condensation, if its only a little bit then theres no need to worry.
