$200 a pair? pfft.... dirt cheap add Boston accoustics and JL audio to the list of ppl that make 5X7's, but from a SQ point, i'd reccomend getting some decent 6.5" splits in the front instead of just replacing the 5X7"s

Finished the install on the BA. Alpine Amp under the passenger front seat, JL audio splits in the front doors, with the crossovers under the seat with the amp. Points of note while doing the install, the firewall is easy to find a hole, as the BA was an auto, so straight through the clutch cable hole, with a dob of sealant to close it up nicely. Under the left hand kick panel is an 'earth' bolt, green painted head and all, just ready for the Amp to be earthed to. The plastic trim around the seat needed minor cutting (razor blade and snips) to allow for the cabling. All the factory stereo cabling is neatly set out ready to go for an aftermarket stereo, just above the 'tissue-tray' and it would be pretty (very) easy to fit an aftermarket deck in that space. The JL 6.5 inch speakers fitted with no mods for 2 of the screws, and a quick stint with the dril for the rest. (nice and solid, mounted into metal). Door cabling was a fiddly, but straight forward.

At this time, the Amp is powered through the 'speaker input' or high volume/voltage input. You can buy speaker to rca converters at a reasonable price to counter the issue of no rca on the factory deck.
